In short
- Your exact location is never shown to anyone — positions are rounded before anything is displayed.
- You control your visibility: which profile sections show, and, as a Supporter, whether your city and your online status show.
- No ads, no data sale. Members fund the app — you're the customer, never the product.
- Delete your account any time in the app: Menu → My Account → Delete account.
Location: approximate by design
Discover needs to know roughly where you are — nothing more. So your position is rounded to a coarse grid before it's used anywhere: other Dudes see an approximate distance ("2 km", or "< 1 km" up close), never a map pin, never coordinates. Your precise GPS position isn't exposed on any profile, any screen, or any API; the rounding happens server-side, by design.
You're in control on top of that. Supporters can hide their city so others see only the distance, and Stealth Mode hides that you're online.
Your visibility controls
- Hide my city — Menu → Edit my profile → Location: others see only the distance, never your city or country. A Supporter feature.
- Stealth Mode — on your Status screen: hide the green dot. A Supporter feature; anyone who's hidden can switch it off.
- Profile section toggles — hide individual profile sections from public view (see Your profile & content).
- Private albums — shared per person, by you, only ever deliberately.
What we store — and what we don't
We store what the app needs to run: your account and profile data, your photos, your messages, and your settings. We don't sell data, run ads, or track you across other apps and websites. Even this website's analytics are cookieless and non-identifying. The Privacy Policy is the complete, legally binding version — including your rights under Swiss and EU data-protection law (access, correction, export, erasure).

Deleting your account
You can delete your DudesChat account yourself, in the app, no questions asked:
- Open Menu → My Account.
- Tap Delete account, then Continue.
- Confirm with your password.
That's it — you're signed out everywhere immediately and your profile disappears from the app. Deleted it by mistake? Contact us within 30 days and we can restore it; after that, the deletion is final. If you want a break, logging out is enough; nobody's deleted for being away.
Can't get into the app? You can request deletion from outside it: email support@dudes.chat from your account's email address, or use the contact form (topic: Privacy & data). We'll verify it's you and take care of it.
