DudesNude vs DudesChat — and why your photos don't just copy across

People keep asking the same fair question: if you've been on DudesNude for years, why doesn't DudesChat just pull in your photos and save you the trouble? The short answer — they're two different products, with two different rulebooks, and that difference is the whole point.

Two different things

DudesNude is the established community on the web — 24 years of it, adults-only, its own standards, its own context. DudesChat is a new app for Dudes who like Dudes that plays by the App Store's guidelines on every platform: pants-on, non-explicit, the same rules everywhere. One isn't a watered-down copy of the other — they're separate places with separate jobs.

Why media doesn't just carry over

It would be easy to flip a switch and copy everyone's galleries across. We're deliberately not doing that — and the reasons are there to protect you:

• Different content standards. DudesChat follows App Store rules everywhere: non-explicit only. A lot of what lives on DudesNude simply isn't allowed in the app, so a bulk import would be wrong by default.
• Consent is specific. When you posted on DudesNude, you agreed to DudesNude's terms, for DudesNude's audience. That isn't the same as agreeing to have those images appear in a different app, in front of a different crowd. Consent doesn't transfer just because the company behind it is the same.
• Every app checks its own. Identity verification, moderation and age assurance run per-app, against each app's rules. Content has to come in through DudesChat's front door so it's checked against DudesChat's standards — not grandfathered in from somewhere else.
• Your control, every time. Starting fresh means you decide exactly what represents you on DudesChat, rather than finding your DudesNude history already there.

What that means for you

You set DudesChat up as its own thing: your profile, your photos, chosen for this audience and checked against these rules. If you're on both, you can link your accounts to skip a verification step — but the content itself stays where it was posted. DudesNude stays DudesNude. DudesChat stays pants-on.

Same Dudes. Two doors. Nothing moves between them unless you choose it.
